Drawing Hands
By using simple maths when playing Poker you can work out your chances of making a hand. All you need to do is calculate the number of cards left in the pack that you need to make your hand. These are known as your “outs”. If you get to the flop stage and you are waiting for the turn and the river to come then you need to multiply the number of outs by four. If you are just waiting for the river then you need to multiply your outs by two and add two.
For example say you have 2 hearts cards and there are another 2 hearts cards in the flop. Altogether, there are 13 hearts in a deck, taking into consideration your 2 hearts and the flops 2 hearts it means that there are 9 hearts left in the pack. So your chances of getting one of the remaining hearts is 9x4=36 per cent! Thus, there is just over a 1 in 3 chance of you getting the card and winning.
Altogether, by using a little bit of maths it will help you to decide to gamble or not based on the probabilities you work out.
